I've been in northern Colorado for most of the month until yesterday afternoon. Temps in the low 70s most days with a couple in the 60s and one scorcher at 88. We even spent most of one day up on a big mountain where it stayed 58 degrees all time we were there.
101 when I rolled into the drive way yesterday and about the same today.
Humidity of 25% and the swamp cooler has fallen off in effectiveness quite a bit. I'm sure several will laugh about the 25% being high but it is for here. It's been single digits just about all year.
It will take me a few days to get back to being used to what is ordinary weather for this time of year. I've been heading north for a couple or three weeks in July ever since I retired. Kind of tough for a few days when you come home but I intend to keep doing it as long as I'm physically and fiscally able which may not be much longer considering the mess Washington has us in.
We try to hit a new place every year and saw some fantastic scenery this year. Lots of snow still in the mountains and lots of water in the creeks and rivers. The Colorado is still out of it's banks at Kremmling just above where the Blue runs into it and the Blue was running full. Lots of water heading to Arizona and California. Saw so many elk we couldn't count them all and also a moose up close which was a real treat. I took about 300 photos to remind us of how nice it was.
We are already planning next years trip.
