the hole spacing is .560 mine is taped for .811 front and back
weaver chart i found shows .560 and 860 spacing on some
mounts but no .811

Is the remington model 30 like the model of 1917 enfield??. Except without the ears. If it is then you may want to look at a one piece base like a redfield or leupold. If I remember the '17 enfield has only one hole drilled and tapped at the front of the rear receiver ring. Had a chance to get a nice rem 30 in '06 as if I needed another. Unfortunatly he didn' take plastic. Frank.

yes it is like a 1917
it is a very low ser number 3xx
they taped it throught the remington name.
i do not believe the first ones was factory taped.
this has 4 holes 2 front 2 back the are spaced at .811 hole centers on both.

Several companies (Leupold comes to mind) make "Gunsmith bases", which are basically blanks, that a gunsmith drills to match your guns spacing.
