You forgot to include what they rake in under the table :(
The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

Also...Why do we need to have so many members of the House of Representatives? Is it mandated in the constitution somewhere? Why not just have 2 per state like senators?

A woman on the news this morning stated that we all need to sacrifice to get through this budget crisis.  WRONG!!!!!  I had nothing to do with this mess.   it's kinda like YOU robbing a gas station and ME going to jail for it.

It is in the constitution. The senators represent the states and the representatives represent the people and are based on the population of the state. It is a great system. The problem is they are all representing foreign corporations and none of them are representing the states or the people.

Ok. I heard Chuck Norris talk about this on a radio show. He was saying how it is nearly impossible to hold any one person accountable for anything the house does because of the large number of representatives now employed. I cant remember everything he said but he was making a lot of sense.

I have said for years we need a Priority system to the budget.
Here in Ca when ever the state over spends the first thing we loose is fire, police, nurses, Teachers, and they threaten to release Prisoners to cut down on the number of guards or they need to raise taxes.
We need laws that the things that government is set up to provide are the priority items and the first things on the chopping block are the senate staff, cars, perks and finally their pay.  Then any social engineering programs and on up the list till we have to get rid of Police, Firemen, release prisoners, or what ever the first thing they always bring up.  But with a senate staff member making what a police and a teacher make.... I need a teacher and a Cop much more than I need a senate staffer.
With the president the un confirmed Czars the party budget, and the vacations need to be cut be fore another tax dollar is collected.

tm. Class envy??They have nothing I want. They have only money and power, I have God in my life, most of them do not. I have morals and family values, many, if not most, of them do not. If you are saying that I am not in their class, thanks, I'd rather have what I have than have to answer to God for all the things that they do. I'm not poor, I just don't have any money. Dem or Repub they draw full retirement for less than ten years of service, regardless of attendance record. That "I am royalty" ideals seem to be apparant. Don't vote for an incumbent and you can stop that.
