Not really sure it would work for you. But here's what I use offroad for camping. store.colemans.com/cart/1-12-ton-trailers-p-35.html They are pretty much like the back of a duece and a half. They have high clearance and can get drug over downed trees and over rocks and bad terrain if you have enough traction/h.p. to do so. It's also used on the farm quite a bit when the ground is to wet to get the tractor and a wagon out. You will have to copy and paste, links just haven't been working for me lately. It is a military trailer. I'll drop the link down here so it's by itself.

A small light trl. that could be moved by hand might be good if it was nessary to hide it while the tow vehicle was being used else where.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

For deer hunters, their is a small contraption commonly called a "mule", which is basically a small metal frame, with one fat bicycle tire, and two lift handles.  It allows a hunter to put his deer on it, and then transport it by himself out of the woods on very rough terrain.  I think some of these contraptions will hold up to 200 pounds.  You can buy them through Cabela's and other catalogues.

This may be more important to have than a full size tow trailer.

Yeah it's basically a wheel barrow but better.

I still think you need to be in a place/situation to "bug-in" if possible.  Hopefully you won't have to "bug-out", just sit still and survive.

I just read some economic predictions for the next 5-8 years that traumatized me significantly.  Everything I have thought about and thougt about planning will need to be implemented at least at some level in the next two years at the longest.  The wife and I will have a sit-down this weekend.
