Hey guys  I have 2 ?s first my barrel has sb2 stamped on it.but I don't see it on the frame anywhere.Where should I look ? 2nd Ihunt on public land and it's illegal to target shoot there. So where  I sight in my rifle Ican only shoot 50 yards and where I hunt shots range from 20 to 200+yards so how would you suggest I sight in at 50 yards.BTW 150gr factory loads.       Thank You

Hello Jim and welcome.
If you bought a new in box handi in 308 it is definetly an sb2 frame. You can tell by the serial number on the frame. Look it up in the FAQ section. The good folks here have put a wealth of knowledge into it.
According to my old Speer manual a 308 150 grain bullet at 2600 fps sighted in at 50 yards would be 0.1" high at 100 yards and 4.5 " low at 200 yards. MY best guess for sighting at 50 yards would be 0.5-1.0 " high. At 200 yards the bullet will have dropped 2.5 inches. These are approximations of course. I reccomend a few boxes of ammo and shooting them. Good luck with your hunt.

SB1/SB2 frame differences are shown in the FAQs, you can't tell what type older(NR) frames are by the serial number, you have to see how the tang is constructed, that's in the FAQs.
