  As I said in my post #17, having been a dealer in fine cutlery for years, i have certain new knives I took a fancy to and some 'trade-ins' which I like also.
  io have just thrown them in a handy box and use as I choose on any given day.  Shown in the photo are most of them, however.  There is a healthy mixture of some old and some new...I do have an affinity for carbon steel though.

  I have several more, but they are in various desks, benches or glove compartments about my place. I do prefer carbon steel and all listed below are of carbon steel except for thee Queens and the Rough Rider mini-canoe.
   Some to be noted above;

 A) Bottom left corner, old German knife from the 1920s
 B) Bottom right corner, 2 brass handled Queen pocket knives ..very thin.
 C) Upper left corner, an old Schrade muskrat which has skinned it's share of coon since about 1970.
 D) Upper right corner, new Rough Rider mini canoe.
 E) Large yellow stockman in center..German, Buck Creek.
 F) Lower left corner 2nd fro corner, German Ivory scales  from 1920s
 G) Lower left corner, 3rd from corner..yellow German "Senator" brand whittler.

  I'll round up the rest eventually and perhaps display them here..

M Tech liner lock knife with hardwood handle slabs.

Steel Warrior four blade Congress with jigged bone handle slabs.

I've had very good luck with these sturdy pocket knives.  I'm also huge fan of BOKER Magnum line of imports.

You chaps do not urge me to restraint at all.......
I just spent several days gathering up my various knives from all corners (except for the customs in one display case and a flint and miniature collectables in another). Im sure a few are still lurking somewhere laughing at me.....
Ive touched up some edges and used a few in the kitchen and remember now why I wanted them. A few can probably go, too.
Im eclectic in this also; with a 'big box full' to view I can have the pick o' the day, but old reliable mostly everyday is still my SAK 'Tinker', not because it is so great, but because it can do so much; and a Syderco clone 'something' that goes on my work pants for utility (won it as a door prize at a knife show about 20yrs ago, thought it would get lost or fall apart in short order and its still going strong, go figure). Had a Buck 110 but it was big and....well, crude, and I just couldnt get into carrying it much. For the field I prefer(ed) a fixed blade.
Seems simplistic, but the knife you will use is the one youve got.....
