Picked up my 2nd K31
« on: August 04, 2011, 02:42:46 PM »
Picked up my second K31 today. It was brought to the US by a  Swiss soldier named Fritz Schmid of Zurich after he left  the Army so there are no import marks. I purchased from it his sister through a mutual friend.  I'm supposed to get a photo of Herr Schmid and some info on his life.  SN 914xxx dates it to 1948. It came with a sling, muzzle cover and a 1899 bayonet but the bayonet is for a 1911(he had one but the stock was cut so I passed on it). Metal is in excellent condition, wood is above average except for an 1 1/2 inch sliver missing under the bolt handle.  All numbers are matching.

Does the lack of import marks add any value?
