Sight in Software

I've read quite afew questions about which bullet to use for this application or that application. At sightin.com there's a program called On Target. You select your rile, cartridge, and at what range you'd like to sight in for..Everyone seems to use 100yrds. For those 250 + yard shots the best sight in would be dead on at 25yrds. Anyways you can experiment sighting in at different yards for the moa. I use this program at to see what the bullets would do before I even buy. You can download the full program to try before you buy.

I checked it out in brief. I like RSI shooting lab. They have a 30 day demo. This program, one can input more criteria. I usually sight in on a PBR method, ranging from 3-6", depending on cartridge and application.
But with any ballistics program, knowing what the velocity and BC. , factory or otherwise, is critical. For an accurate program run. But one can estimate, for comparative results. It appeared the OT was set up for factory rounds, which is fine. But I wouldn't take it for granted. As velocity in factory ammo, can vary from one rifle to the next. But then programs aren't meant to replace shooting practice either.

I reload...You can add your own reloads etc...And I also use a chronograph..But your right as far as factory loads, but if you don't reload it seems everything is all setup for you. What I use alot is the program is up to print the trajectory for any given range and energy. I tape it to my stock....Where can I go to see the program that your using??

Hey Don,
I wished I had more time to explore the OT. But I'm used to the RSI, I didn't look that close at it . Anyhow look at RSI's and let me know how it compares. If you think the OT is better, I'll give it a better look.
Go to  www.shootingsoftware.comand look up demo for your system. I would like your opinion on it.
