Is it true or just bad info?
« on: August 01, 2011, 07:26:35 PM »
A friend of mine called H&R the other day and was told the camo laminate forearms are discontinued.  Is this true, or is it some of the misinformation like some others have received when asking about barrels and the like?

It wouldn't surprise me, I don't think they have any production guns that come with camo lams any more other than the USHD models and I think the 20ga has a longer forend which might be the only option, Brian would know for sure.  ;)

They discontinued the smooth camo laminate forearms a few years ago and all that was available through H&R since then have been the checkered rifle length ones or the longer USH length. Perhaps this is what they were speaking of (I hope)....<><....:)

A friend of mine just bought from H&R a camo. lam, M/C, checkered set about 6 weeks ago, so they had fore stocks at that point.

My friend called H&R again and got a rude employee that told him the FS02413 checkered camo lam forearm wasn't a good part # and he didn't have any idea what he could do.  He told him the only camo lam forearm they have is for a "bull barrel" (I assume he's talking about the USH).

Sounds like they need product education.

Has anyone tried the Ultra Slug Hunter forearm on a 45/70 barrel, or barrel of the same approx. diameter?  If so, how did it look, and do you have any pics?

Thanks

The USH forend is a lot longer(11-1/8" long) and bulkier than a rifle forend, the barrel is 1.2" in diameter at the forend. PM Brian56 to see if they have FS02413 in stock, the smooth camo lam forend is FR01182 as an alternative.
