More Cops in the news
« on: August 04, 2011, 06:03:03 AM »
Police in Fullerton Ca beat a homeless man to death for resisting arrest. There were quite a few people at the scene who were appalled at the beating, which some say continued even after he was lying still. The police video hasn't been released, and the one filmed by witnesses is not a good one as far as the detail of the event.

The beating didn't stop after the man was in cuffs and hogtied. Being tased 6 times didn't help either.

I've been following this. It is hard to write quietly about it. This was a killing by agents of the state.

Most the police beat this man to death... because they think they can. The guy was 'in contempt of cop' and many police believe they can do as they wish in those cases, with due caution for getting caught... and their experience is, they don't usually get caught (this is changing, some). When they do get caught, not a lot of effort goes into punishing them, unless it is a very public event... and even then, they're probably gonna skate. And they'll have a union guy at their back. And most of their buddies will back them up as long as they can, until they're in danger. You'll get cop-defenders/lawyers/bosses using profession jargon to obfuscate, minimize, and deflect. Hopefully, not in this case. We'll see.

 The cops' lawyer:
Quote
An attorney representing Fullerton police, Michael D. Schwartz, said in a statement that "public perception of officers' trying to control a combative, resistive suspect rarely conform to those officers' training, experiences, and what those officers were experiencing at the time or reality."

Same scumsucker lawyer also come out with this:
Quote
Schwartz also said there was "no excessive use" by an officer of a Taser on Thomas — countering statements made by several witnesses.

Well, Mr Thomas is still dead. And I checked the rules - it's apparently against the law to shoot the cops who killed this guy. Maybe we need to change those rules.

Fortunately, these thugs are not representative of the vast majority of LEOs out there.

Cities need to go after cops accused in cases like this with the same zeal, or maybe even more, than they go after people accused of killing cops.  And, if indicted, I think the city should NOT pay for their defense.

Tased 6 times and 4-6 cops throwing a beat down. This continued after he was in cuffs. 99.99% of LEO's will not strike a suspect in cuffs and hogtied. There is the .01% that think it's fun. That .01% really drain alot away from the proffesionals.

I can't see how these murders will not be indicted with the video and witnesses. This was not a case of resisting arrest it was a case of getting their rocks off beating a man to death.

Apparently some police departments don't have any sense of humor. Check this out:

They may or may not have a sense of humor, but... if they detect a sniff of contempt of cop, or failure to kowtow... they'll take that very, very seriously.

Apparently the police don't want to release their video of homeless man beaten to death by Fullerton police.

Perhaps they're hoping this will die down, and back to business as usual?
