My brother Darryl and I went back to Fort Ward 42 years later........

They also have a fine 24 pounder coehorn inside the museum.

If anyone wants more info on the Ft. Ward museum, I made one or two videos of the contents, and they are on you-tube.  In one I questioned whether they had the right type of shell loaded in the Coehorn, since it was a strapped shell, and I found out later it was correct.  I learned from the experience.

The Ft. Ward curator is an historian (first name Wally if I recall correctly) and a member of the Company of Military Historians, who had researched in detail exactly what was correct, then purchased a repro of the correct type.  As you may or may not know, that kind of authenticity is rare in museums, at least those I've visited.

Finally.  Got us all together for a 'Before and After' photo.  Same line-up as 1969.
