Powderman and Farm Boy there are now only a few of us left who can recall when free Americans lived very well upon on this land. Before government control eggs and milk were used to raise a healthy race of people. The corporate farms and Federal regs have turned even these staples into poison. It is to know you fellows are keeping the past alive. I think the same thing is true in growing tobacco. Ok don't attack with all the ant-tobacco crap.
I grew up in the early 50's. We had Milk cows, Pigs and chickens. Most of the neighbors also had cows, but those that didn't had other animals or produce and we all traded. I remember taking milk on a daily basis to an old Colored lady. "That's what she called herself" She would sometimes make Head Cheese and even though it was full of cholesterol causing fat, I loved it!!!!She would give us some at times and this was her way of sharing the bounty!
We even sold some milk, and the money from the milk went back into the feeding of the livestock.
I don't have the milk cows or pigs today, but I have 5 big hens and 7 Bantams, so I know how farm fresh eggs taste......YUM! Had an omelet just this morning.
