I'm  thinking seriously about sending to the Barrel Accessory Program to have a .35Rem barrel fitted,  to experiment with that cartridge but also to later rechamber to .358Win.

Those that own and shoot a .35 Remington Handi barrel or are familiar with them,  would you encourage the purchase of one?

I'm also aware the Whelen barrels are available too, but the smaller 35Rem and 358Win cases might lend themselves to less trouble when shooting cast boolits too (another interest of mine).

THANKS  FOR  ANY  INPUT!   8)

Mine shows alot of promise... given I've only shot one bullet (200 grain Rem Core-Lokt) and it was about 100 degrees when I shot it. Mine gun has less than 15 shots through it, under the above conditions, and it shot a three shot 100 yard group of 1.25" I really like the 200 grain Core-Lokts for anything from deer to elk to bear. The 35 Rem has very low recoil and kills any critter walking in North America... Do it!!

Tim's SUPER 35REM  loadings kinda negate the need to rechamber to the excellent 358 Win... Just throwing it out there... ;)

Must have caliber for the Handi along with the 30-30 and 45/70. Mine shoots fine with Hornady Flextip factory ammo but I am working with +p loads now and the Hornady 200 grain flextip bullet. Has been way too hot to shoot lately.

I don't have a Handi barrel (yet) in .35 rem, but it is on my list.  I do own a short barreled Marlin in .35 rem and love the caliber.  I love the preformance of the 200 gr Rem corelokt rn in this caliber and as I said, it IS on my 'Handi' list!  44 Man

That Marlin sounds pretty sweet! Was that a factory shorty?

Bought this one late last year and never looked back. Right out of the box was shooting
around 1 1/4" with Rem. 200 Corelocks and haven't tried any of Tims superloads yet! As my
health improves hope to draw blood this fall. Fred
