First off: Thanks for a great site.

2nd: I was wondering if you might elaborate abit on the differences between single and Dbl action recoils as I have always been a single action shooter. Have not heard of this before and may be missing out on a point somewhere. :roll:

P.S. My new .45 SS Vaquero in 7-1/2 is great!
40 shots fired, five shot groups, eight targets.
Worst=4.250"
Best=1.860"
It may take me awhile to get used to the gun & sight picture, but it's gonna be fun!

As you know the single action guns roll in your hands. The DA guns instead come more straight back into the web of your. No rolling as with the SA guns.

At what distance were you shooting for the groups mentioned.

Thanks for clarifying the recoil thing for me. The single action does indeed roll in the hand.

The groups fired with the ruger were at 25yds as this was the factory site in distance as said in the manual.
You probably have linked shots or shots through the same holes at this range.
I need some time to work up loads and get used to the sight picture but it looks promising so far.
