MR Smith goes to Washington

Just watched Mr Smith goes to Washington. It was made on 1939. It's sad to say that now much has changed in Washington since that movie was made.

How much has changed?  Politicians are still in the pocket of Lobbyists.  The work of the Government is always being manipulated for the benefit of the few.  The Liberal Media still spins its one sided yarns.

While the Court of Public Opinion can be swayed by the "Smoking Gun", today there are fewer and fewer of them.  The good man, the honest man, the speaker of the truth is as hard to hear today as in 1939 when this Jimmy Stewart CLASSIC film was made.

I watched it today too and every time it comes on.  Where are the "Clarissa" women in America?

Maybe he was referring to the fantasy that a person of ordinary means can be in congress. It takes a ton of money to get in there now. Don't know what it was like back then.
