OKaay...this is what I'm talking about..
« on: August 20, 2011, 07:26:12 AM »
The other day I was riding my motorcy around and I came across this guy feeding on some stuff, apples, etc. that some folks threw out...very tame...I'm told his father is pure white, very big,,,elusive and even a bigger rack...this deer had a kinda small body with a right good rack of 12 pts on him, and looks like its still growing....2 other younger bucks with him.

A wall hanger for sure.  I haven't checked my cameras yet, it doesn't look too good here, bad drought and hot, hot, hot!  My normally running spring is just a dribble, they is no puddling just moist soil.  With no water and limited feed the season doesn't look good. :( :(

Nice pics, TM7. Thanks for sharing. The drought is our downfall this year in Texas. Its about to be the worst in recorded history. Even our staple mast crop, acorns, are still not developing the way they should. Our supplemental feeding can only go so far. Good to see folks are having better fortunes. I have noticed deer in our area are starting to feed on cedar leaves and bark. That's bad! Definately a last resort food source. They even ate a mound of Timothy Hay I had left out for my pet rabbit. What would take the rabbit 3 months to eat deer ate it in about 10 hours.
