There was a time when many well known liberals in this country were calling for us to 'give up' to the communist menace..just surrender to them. These liberals were so terrified that they were willing to abandon our constitution, liberties, freedom and way of life ..just to avoid any possibility of armed conflict.
During Jimmie Carter's single term, 7 nations slipped into the communist net. This came about because of the liberal attitude of "retreat under pressure".
Then Ronald Reagan replaced Carter..soon the former communist dominated nations started fighting back to freedom..the Czechs, Roumanians, Poles, Latvians, Estonians..the Ukraine and others...soon to be followed by the Soviet Union itself. The wall tumbled, the US had the longest period of sustained growth it had ever known..
