Suppressed G2 Contender
« on: July 25, 2011, 10:28:08 AM »
Finally found a machine shop that can internal thread my Contender 22lr Match barrel and should have it back in 2 or 3 weeks and if it looks good and still drives tacks at 50 yards I will have the 10mm barrel and maybe the 222 Rem barrel done also. Will post pictures when I get it back.

Well here's the new toy, may end up selling it as it's getting expensive. If I keep it I will have to order new mount, ring's and a scope and I have tried the NcStar crap so I will be out $250 to $500 more for a good scope. I'm getting enough tied up in my G-2 that for two cents I'd sell the whole rig. The machine work is by EWK Arms and it looks factory with the recessed and internal threaded adaptor. I not sure but I think he will have a optional plug that just fills the hole for when adaptor is not on the gun.

I am in the waiting game to get my tax stamp for a suppressor that will be put on a 16.5 inch 1 in 8 twist factory threaded MGM barrel in 300 blackout.  I am putting an AAC Cyclone suppressor on mine.  Assuming all go well, I will send back to MGM two ten inch barrels in 300-221 and 22 LR to be threaded.  I shot a few of my FFL's suppressed rifles and pistols and unfortunately caught the disease as if the contender bug wasn't bad enough.  Only thing I can say is that Va city deer had better move out of my neighborhood. :) :) :)

I can spare two shiny pennies.  :D
Neat little setup, never seen one done internally like that. BTW sometimes the compact leupold pistol scopes sell pretty reasonable on the classifieds forum.

I do watch the classifieds some, but not enough. I just slaapped a cheap NcStar scope on it that I had laying around from a trade and the little bugger seems to be a pretty fair scope for the $20 invested. A friend tried it with his suppressor and some of my 15 year old Remington sub-sonic ammo. With me about 10 to 12 feet away you could just kinda hear the hammer strike is all. I was very pleased to say the least, but the squirrel on the tree trunk was not.  :)
