Austin,

Not sure exactly what you mean by normal, but I'll assume that you mean copper jacketed lead bullets?

It would probably be easier to tell you what DON'T shoot good in a White rifle. I have owned a .504 Whiteail since the early to mid 90's, it is so accurate, it is boring. They really like bullets on the heavier side of 300 grains best in the 1:24 twist rifling. I prefer the White 435 gr Shooting Star / Power Star, or the 375 gr Buffalo Bullets SSB. But if you are looking for a copper jacketed bullet, stay with 300+ gr bullets Like the Hornady XTP/SST for best results. One that I haven't tried yet, but would imagine it would do well is the Hornady 325 gr .458" FTX in the orange .50/.458 MMP sabot. You may need to use a thicker .50/.451-.452 Harvester Black Crush Rib sabot with that .458" bullet for your .504 bore.

The best saboted bullets for the .504 bore are of course the all lead swadged 435 gr White Shooting/Power Star, 375 gr  Buffalo Bullets SSB, or any of the heavier .50 cal offerings from PR Bullets.

Have you ever tried the 460 gr or 495 gr No Excuses? Or Bullshops 440 gr UC, 460 gr NEx, or one of the 500 gr full bore conical offerings? That is where the White Rifles really shine.

By normal I meant that is not made specifically for a white and can be found easily when I run out of powerpunch 430 grains. What is the cheapest bullet that would work for practicing and getting on paper?

Thanks, I will try those no excuses. Looks to be just what the doctor ordered.

i cast all my own and even found the white to like big cast lead bullets in sabots(no suprise), even though im not a fan of sabots.  i have a few molds for some 458 bullets that either stayed that size and worked ok in the orange mmp sabot, or sized to 452 then with a harvester sabot.  if you are into casting this is a good way to make sure yu always have a supply of what you need!!
