I am looking for a caliber for coyotes. Is the .223 or .221 FIREBALL better for medium range yote hunting.Or is there another caliber that is better. :?

the 223 hands down. better selection of ammunition and brass. plus it will do what the 221 with out even breaking a sweat.

If a coyote shows up at less than 250yds, he will likely not be able to tell the difference if I chose my 221 or 223 to carry that day. The Fireball does more than it should, especially with the 40-45gr bullets, but runs out of boiler room for the heavier stuff.
Fireball is just lots of "fun", easy on the ears and barrel. Never thought I would see 3500+fps, even with 40gr pills, but that's quite easy with AA1680 or LilGun.

There is nothing wrong with the .221 if you reload. If you don`t realod your selection of ammo is small and hard to find. The .223 on the other hand with do anything that the .221 will do and do it at alittle longer ranges.

Get over the backwards safety. I've owned many different rifles and had NO PROBLEM immediately being able to master the CZ safety. It's not a big deal at all. You are truely missing out on a fine firearm by dissmissing it merely for the safety.

I have both and prefer the .221 just a matter of preference. To me there is no lure of cheap ammo as I make all mine anyway. Neither the size of the quarry nor the max range changes much with either. The .221 I can shoot a little longer before the gun gets hot and its a little quieter.
The cost of components for the two are identical....the powder is slightly more for the .223, the brass is a one time purchase of volume. The cost savings is a myth.
