Stuck Cases - is it the same fix as the rifles
« on: August 22, 2011, 06:30:54 AM »
I am guessing yes, but I just want to make sure.

1. Chamber polish
2. Debur/polish ejector parts.
3. Stronger spring?
4. Dremell a knotch in back of barrel ala fredm

well, I pollish them up some, yes but thats usually all i do.

After that I find a brand of ammo that doesnt stick and shoot away.

My .410 hated remington hulls so they never get fired, because I hated carrying a cleaning rod to get em out after every shot  ;)

Good luck

The sticking is pretty wide spread
Winchester (target loads, high speed quail loads)
Federal trap loads
Federal steel
Kent steel

Read the ejector tune info in the FAQs, be sure to add the BB ahead of a new spring too.  ;)

Don't know about a build up, but a good scrubbing is on the todo list.

Now I just need to work up the nerve to pull stuff apart, I keep meaning to do the triggers on my rifes too.

Ejector R&R is easy compared to a trigger job.  ;)

Ejector work is just the thing to get your mind into working on these.

Nothing helped my Topper barrel
1 polish
2 polish more
3 burred and filed EVERYTHING
4 dremeled the rim relief area because it looked a little out of concentric
5 spring work and the BB trick and polished and burred more

Thought about sending it back as they said they would fix it but it just irritates me they know it's a problem and just keeping selling them that way and I have to pay shipping all over the country.

I just quit shooting anything in it that sticks. You shouldn't have to put up with that crap from the topper trap grade gun. It's not an EXPENSIVE trap gun but it's FAR from a cheap gun.
