New Toy Cannon
« on: September 04, 2011, 01:11:50 PM »
Found in Second hand store . All brass  but not fireable .

No inscriptions or markings , Hollow barrel . The casabel is driled for a fuse . Think I will solder it shut lest any one be tempted . It is a light walled casting same shape on inside as out .

1Southpaw, don't solder the fuse hole shut, that is a firecracker cannon, I have three of them myself! They are designed for you to unscrew the back end, insert a firecracker, with the fuse thru the hole, screw it back together, and light it off...BoomLover

Thank You !
I tried to screw the back off and it did !
I could tell it had been fired as it has green black powder residue .
Paid $20 for it . Too Much ?  ;)

Yes $20 is far to much for it.  I will give you $20 tomorrow for it. I will then take the thing to M&M and sell it for scrap. I will do this for you because you are my friend and I can't stand to see you get scammed.    ;D

They average around $55 - 60, sometimes with firecrackers included! You got a pretty good deal......

Most of these "fire cracker" cannons came out of india as decorator stuff back in the 1970's and 80's I think the firecracker roll was a secondary consideration ..... you see alot of these croping up on evilbay.... they seem to be the most common type next to the brass and cast iron souveneer cannons made in this country.
