Marlin Lever .22 ?
« on: January 16, 2012, 04:01:04 PM »
Feller at work bought a Marlin Lever action .22, not sure of the model #. It takes a clip and has a gold colored trigger.

I have never seen one. Anyone know anything of them?

Thanks
Lonny

Lonny,

All the lever action 22 marlins I can remember were tube fed..  :o I'm interested in what it would be as well as you are.

Now that I think about it, Marlin did make a short throw lever rifle in 22, 22M, & 256win. Can't remember the model #. I owned one in 256 for a while years ago. When I still lived in Florida, one of the local pastors used one as his deer rifle.

I've always heard those called the Lever-matics, but they do have model numbers.
IIRC the m56 was the clip fed one and the m57 was tube fed. The m62 was clip fed center fire version, .256 Win. and .30 carbine.
A kid I grew up with had a m56 in .22 mag and it was pretty accurate.
