Even considering that the 'extra -0-' is a mistake, it seems that $600 is on the steep side.

I don't think I've ever paid MSRP on anything.  I'm even pretty sure that most of the members of GB never paid full MSRP on a Handi.  My guess is that the real purchase price is in the neighborhood of $325 - $350.  Any other guesses?

Me too, but the MSRP is a measure of what an item actually sells for since no one lists them for sale online that I could find to show what they retail for. Bud's sells the SB2 shotgun/rifle combos for $302, so you can add ~$50-$75 for a two-barrel rifle combo.
