mattri,
I haven't tried Foster style slugs in an H&R rifled barrel but I have shot them in Hastings aftermarket slug barrels and a Mossberg rifled slug barrels. Both guns are 12 ga and the slugs where Remington Sluggers both 2.75 and 3". I could hit a pie plate @ 50 yards but that was about it. I didn't have any barrel leading to speak of, just not accurate enough to want to hunt deer with them.
If you reload I would suggest you try the lyman slugs that go into a shotshell cup. These work well for me and are cheap compared to commerical saboted slugs. If you don't reload then Remington Buckhammers work well in most rifled barrels and are about 1/2 the cost of many of the sabots.

Why be difficult, when with a little extra effort you can be impossible?
