NEF accessory barrel state tax?
« on: September 09, 2011, 08:36:55 AM »
I noticed on the barrel accessory form that there is a spot for state tax.   Do I have to pay my own state tax % or NY state tax?   Or am I missing something?

They charged me my state tax on the last barrel I got about 2 weeks ago. In the past they haven't charged me tax at all.

Thanks.  I always thought it was tax free if they don't have a physical presence in your state of residence.

HAR !
I got charged Nova Scotia SalesTax (13% at that time) from Tiger Direct in Florida on a Computer shipped to Georgia because I used a Canadian Visa Card.  RIP OFF. Buying once from them was enough !

I was zapped something like $24.00 in sales tax on the purchase of two accessory barrels last month.  IRC it was NY /county/city sales tax.

That's how it's supposed to be.

Does NEF/H&R still have a brick and mortar location in Mass? If not they shouldn't have charged you the sales tax.

H&R(Remington) charges tax on all orders regardless of where you are.

I thought it depended on the state.  Some states want their tax, and demand anyone doing business with someone in their state, collect and give them the tax.  Other states don't have a sales tax, so they should not have to pay a tax.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

It may be that 'corp' said charge tax on everything because of tax law we havent seen yet and they want to avoid trouble. FWIW, the out of state sales and I-net sales 'lost tax' is a 'loophole' that I am surprised they havent closed long ago, considering the sad state of.........well, I wont go there, wrong forum.
