Case extraction - 284 winchester
« on: October 01, 2011, 03:33:16 PM »
Went to the range today with my .284 win barrel from t/c custom shop. The round fired fine, but couldn't hardly get the spent round out. It would come out part way, but would seem to get hung up on the extractor. scratched the case the full length. Am I doing something wrong or do you think I should send back to t/c. By the way, it didn't have anything to do with loading to hot. It does it to brand new cases as well as full length sized cases prior to firing. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Well, followed the advice of a posting I found here (I believe). Wrapped 1500 grit around the base of a empty cartridge and used it to polish the extractor. Must of had a rough edge that was taking hold of the case. Can pull the empties out of the chamber like butter now with no scratches. Thanks for the views. Hope this might help others with a similar problem.
