What can I expect my trajectory to be at 150?
« on: September 22, 2011, 07:52:52 AM »
150 gr of 777 and 250 gr TC Shockwave.  Dead on at 100 yds.  What can I expect my 150yd tracectory to be?  This isnt  a sub for actually shooting, Im just curious what I can expect when I finally get to the range.
I've got to many but never enough!!!!

150 grains of loose 777 powder? That's on the high side for a useable charge in most guns.

Yah, 777 is typically only used at 80% of the pyrodex/black powder charge.  Most magnum muzzle loaders are listed as 150 max, so you should be using 120 max to be safe.   :o

well all guns differ but my cva with 2 50 gr pellets tc shockwave 250gr i sight in at 150 yards and im about 2.5 high at 100 yards so you will probably be 2 or 3 inches low at 150 yards

Buckslayer, without knowing the actual velocity it's hard to say.  But I suspect you will be at least 4 inches low at 150.  You would be better off sighting in for and inch and a half high at 100, which should put you no more than two inches low at 150.
