.357 Remington Maximum on bear

Wondering if anybody has taken game with the .357 Rem Max? If so, what did you take and how did the bullet perform?
I have 180gr hard cast GC bullets atop 18gr of H110 for a velocity of approx 1830fps. This will be the load that I will use to dispatch a black bear or cougar at close range should one decide to take me or the mutts on while out hiking.
 
 Would like to hear about your .357 Max exploits.

Is the max close to a 35 rem? If not sorry for the post, but on my bear the 35 remington with 200ish gr Silvertips put it down pretty quick, full penetration with no recovered bullet. Used that gun on a bear a long time ago thats why I say 200ish gr Silvertip, (not sure of wt. but a round nose). But very effective.  thejanitor
