What slugs work best on 500 Mossberg 20 gauge smoothbore?

As a follow up to my original question about 20 ga. rifled foster slugs..........What have you found works best in a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 smoothbore field barrel?  This is my Grandson's gun and I'm hoping that Remington, Winchester, or Federal makes one that will give good results.  How 'bout the Brenneke or Lightfield rifled slugs?  Are they worth the extra money?  Just too dern cheap to buy an armload of everything on the shelves to find the one that works best......and in 20 gauge, you can't find that much variety anyway!!  I sure wish they still made ACTIV's.  They sure were the best choice in my 12 ga. Ithaca Deerslayer!

I have had great success with the Brennekes in my Mossberg Model 500. If you can't find any try mailorder: CheaperNDirt, MidWay, Natchez, etc....

For a couple of bucks or so a box at Wally World, try the big three, I'm sure you will find one that shoots to your liking out to about 75 yards or so. Remington has worked well for me, but every gun is differant. For 100 yards you really need a rifled barrel for consistant groups.
