  I think questioning anything and everything that comes out of the idiot box (a term which could equally apply to the internet and TV) is 'the sane thing to do'.
 
  I'm not endorsing any theory here.  What I'm saying is that every time I have seen a news story about something that I had either participated in or witnesses, the reporting was wrong to one degree or another.  Therefor, I don't trust reporting too much.
