Firing pin strikes off center
« on: September 28, 2011, 08:28:02 AM »
I have .357 magnum handi that I've run about 150 rounds through.  I was shooting it yesterday and noticed the firing pin is striking the primer off center.  I've had no FTFs but is this something I should be concerned with?
Thanks for the help!

Simple answer, No!

I've had plenty of guns that had firing pin strikes that were slightly off center.

As long as it goes; "bang!", your okay.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I agree, if it goes bang every time don't nmess with it.  In other words, "If it ain't broke don't fix it".  Several of mine aren't centered, but they shoot well.

My Encore is one.  Some barrels it is centered, others it is not.  Difference is in the barrels.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
