Changing from Pistol Grip to Straight Stock.
« on: June 17, 2011, 11:46:35 AM »
I am toying with the idea of changing the stock on my Glenfield to a straight grip.  What will be involved?  The stock of course, the lever and the bottom piece of the receiver which the lever attaches to, anything else?

Byron,

Thanks for the tip.  When I get the time I will do that.

You'll have to find a stock, trigger plate and lever. All in the same finish/material. No guarentees to the fit so some hand fitting may be needed?

It is going to be alot cheaper, and alot less aggravation, to go to a few large gunshows, trade-in your current rifle,  find an old straight gripped marlin, refinish the stock, and replace a few worn parts.   In .30-30 they are not that hard to find.
