Knife Stamped "Louis"
« on: October 29, 2011, 03:45:12 AM »
I was given many knives that belonged to my now deceased uncle. One of them I can't figure out is stamped "Louis" on the blade and the leather sheath; does anyone know anything about the maker of this knife.

I'm no knife expert, but I would call it a 4" drop point blade. My uncle lived in KY and attended a lot of rendezvous in the MO, OK and AR region, retiring to Grove, OK. I wouldn't be surprised if the maker was from one of these states, but I just don't know.

The name doesn't begin to ring a bell.  Sometimes if you go online and do a search on Arkansas or Oklahoma etc knifemakers a name will show up if he/she was registered with any guild or group or sold online etc.
