you couldn't hit a squirrel at 25 yards with mine unless you used bird shot.

Don't give up before trying some 158 gr. jacketed bullets.  I've never found 125 grain bullets with their short bearing length to shoot all that well in any .357 I've owned-rifle or handgun.

I shoot 110gr. XTP hollowpoints in my Maxi and they're very accurate.

Don't get caught up in the "Micro groove cannot shoot cast bullets" theology.  They will shoot cast, they simply need to be cleaned more. Not having said this, I would not buy one with the expectation of expressly shooting lead bullets.

Folks in 'The Cast Bullet Assoc.' have been successfully shooting cast in Micro-Groove barrels for years.

What diameter are your hardcast bullets ?? My 357 MAX likes .360 best or .359 if I can't get them to cast bigger , most all of my Handis seem to prefer a  cast bullet .002 over bore diameter . Are you getting any leading ?? If you are it very well may be an indicator of undersize bullets.

Add me to those suggesting this.  I my book slugging the bore is mandatory when shooting cast.  You may find that the barrel is seriously over sized.  This can cause problems with jacketed too.  In fact as I read this thread it was the first thing to come to my mind, for what it is worth :)
