Turkish m38 mauser
« on: October 24, 2011, 06:57:19 AM »
I bought this gun back from my stepdad after him having it for almost 10 years.  I was thinking since it really has no value of sporterizing it.  I want to cut the barrel to 20 inches and remove the front and rear sights.  Next i want to chop and reshape the stock so it looks nice with the rifle.  After that is done i would like to matte blue the metal and add some xs ghost ring sights.
Has anyone done this to their mausers before?  I know it would be sacraligious to do this to an original rifle but i was thinking it would make for a fine deer rifle.
