Do you think I have a bad multipurpose switch ?
« on: October 09, 2011, 11:18:04 AM »
While on the highway going from OH to WY I suddenly lost, brake lights, turn signals, 4 way flashers, cruise control and when started in park I cannot move the shift lever out of park.
This is on a Ford E 150 Econoline van ( 1998 ) no fuses were blown.
I have the vehicle home now and think the problem must be in this multipurpose switch but would like to know if anyone else has had this sort of problem before and what was the cure ?
The new part is $ 170.00 and I would have to order it, Anybody have any other ideas ?
   Thanks,      Jedman

I bought the new multifunction switch and replaced it and now have all vehicle functions working.
This switch is on the steering column and has  the turn signal lever, wiper / washers, Hi/ Low headlights, 4 way flashers all in one unit.
Happy to be working !   :)       Jed
