3 for 3
« on: October 17, 2011, 03:51:18 PM »
I shot a doe sat. afternoon with my Huntsman. That makes me 3 deer from 3 shots while hunting with this gun. That's a better record than any of my other guns. :)

Congratulations, muzzle loading season isn't until Nov for us Southern (Zone) New Yawkers!  What load were you using?

Congratulations!

My .50 cal Huntsman is still batting a thousand on Elk and Whitetails. Lost count of the animals, but I could look it up in my records. Just hope I didn't jinx myself for making that statement.

It is my favorite rifle to hunt with, but I have made several modifications to make it that way. Muzzleloading Season doesn't start until December here, but I will be using my Custom 1:20 twist .45 cal Huntsman during our November 15-30 General Firearms Season.

Good luck guys!

Thanks fellas!  I use 80gns of loose triple7 and TC Cheap Shot sabots. CCI 209 primers from the factory carriers. I can make 3 shots touch at 50yds and mabye a 3" group at 100yds. I've shot 4 deer with those Cheap shots so far (one with my flintlock), all through and through, 3 dropped where they were standing, the other was walking when I shot and it ran downhill about 50yds before crumpling. All shots were between 30 and 75yds.

Oops! Messed up big time, muzzle loading season starts Dec. in the NY southern zone.  Regular firearms starts in Nov.  Busta was correct.
