FLU SHOTS??
« on: October 16, 2011, 05:48:47 PM »
We got ours a month ago. We go to the county health dept every year because they have always been cheaper and every $ counts since I had to quit work. This year they were $25 each, same as Kroger and most other places. In 86 when I had a broken leg they were a huge help with supplies, even sent a nurse to the house , I'd of probably lost the leg without their help. Last year I had never had a pneumonia shot and it is highly reccomended for folks like me with a bad heart. Kroger wanted $70, up from $45 the year before. I went to the co health dept and got it for $10, yep, $10. Don't know why they kicked it up this year. Next year we will probably go elsewhere. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

I believe in the shots, I have been getting the flu shot each year for about 40 years, since the military first started giving them, and started on the pneumonia when it came out, I get that every five years.  I have never had a problem with the shots, nor experienced an illness afterwards like some claim to have so I guess I will continue to take them.  I couldn’t take it last year due to the Chemo treatments and a VERY low immune system, but the doctor has cleared me for one this year.  I ran across the following this morning, a good argument against taking the shot and reason for the push each year.

The history of how vaccines started is a joke and it was based on poor science, mostly assumptions. Pharma companies realised many years ago that the pandemic scares are a money pit for vaccine makers. Vaccines=money.

No vaccine is safe regardless of what Big Pharma wants you to believe. They damage your inmune system. This is why the cases of allergies & neurological disorders continue to rise. In places where people do not vaccinate these cases are practicaly non-existent. Also vaccines are NOT REQUIRED for school entry regardless of what the school tells you. All states have wavers. Unfortunately the system allways persuades the people on believing that they are MANDATORY.

...like under socialism-the government run health department would be the only place to get the shot for $45 versus capitalism-kroger is free to charge $45 for the shot and the consumer has the freedom to look elsewhere for a better deal.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?
