Romney faces criticism -- again -- on health care Associated Press Posted on October 18, 2011 at 9:01 PM
Updated today at 9:07 PM LAS VEGAS (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Sen. Pennsylvania Rick Santorum have been tag-teaming presidential rival Mitt Romney over Massachusetts' health care law.
Romney said during Tuesday night's GOP debate that "Obamacare is bad news" and he pledges to repeal it.
Perry says Romney is being dishonest about his record on the law that Democrats used as a model for their national health care plan. Santorum was more direct: "You just don't have credibility, Mitt."
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also piled on, calling it a big-government take-over of health care.
It was the strongest criticism Romney has faced in a debate on Massachusetts' health care law. During one moment, both Perry and Santorum interrupted Romney's defense of the plan as right for his state but wrong for the nation.
