Amps?
« on: June 06, 2011, 12:49:31 PM »
These days my playing is limited to my personal enjopyment and jamming with my son. I play through a Roland Cube 15 and am quite impressed with this small amp. Both my Epi Les Paul Standard Plus Yop and my Peavy JF-1 EXP sound great through it. What do you all think of the Roland Cube series and what practice amps do you like?

I'm not much for practice amps. I practice with the same rigs that I play on stage.Marshall full stack for guitar and an ampeg rackmount head with the famous refrigerator (sarcasm for really heavy) cabinet. But I bought my son a small vox and it sounds great. Just enough features to not be confusing for a beginner.

I don't have any experience with the roland products but if you like the tone you're getting it's a good amp. A lot of guys spend a lot of time and money chasing that "perfect" tone.

I always liked Roland amps, especially for jazz. Nice clean sound. I play bass and I'm into vacuum tubes so I use a 1964 Ampeg B15 for practice and live gigs.
