Anyone use 44mag T/C for pig hunting?????

Just bought a T/C 44 MAG. super 14" barrell........going out hunting this eve. taking the deer rifle, but also taking the T/C in case i see a pig....what grain bullets/brand do you use.........thanks for your replies......

In the .44 Mag I prefer hard cast bullets for hogs. I've shot only one using a JHP and it was a 300XTP. Wasn't pleased with the way the bullet came apart or the depth of penetration. I shot it between the eyes at 15' so it did the job but I have to wonder if it would have on other shot presentations. Since then I've used only hard casts. Any decent cast bullet from 250 grains to 300+ should do fine.

Just used it this past summer - took a 180 lber and a 350 lb. sow the same day.  When I did my part, it worked just fine.  I used a jacketed soft point and got complete pass through's both times.

killed mine with a t.c encore 44 mag 12 in barrel.  240gr horn xtp about 15 feet got  complete pass through  about 200 pound sow..gunoil
