With Greece being so much in the news lately, I thought I'd mention that Greece did not meet EU criteria for entering the European Union. The issue was financial trouble. They decided to let Greece into the EU anyway, and now look what a mess there is. I don't recall seeing anything written in the major news about how irresponsible it was for the Europeans to allow a deadbeat country into their union in the first place. This makes it a distinctly European problem, and one that the US should have no part in remedying.
