Boy's/Camp Axe

I've had this head for several years.  I believe I paid $2.00 for it.  I found a hickory handle, flame tempered it, and soaked it in BLO.  The final finish is Min-Wax Satin Tung Oil Finish.  Wood and metal wedges were soaked with Super Glue after installation and then covered with clear epoxy.

Love that boy's axe.  Big enough to do serious work with, but small enough to pack around...

That is a wonderful ax. Tell you what, I'll pay you $4 for it and double your money. :)

except...that boy's ax was most likely made in the good ol' USA, and is probably better quality.
The Cold Steel ax is good enough maybe, but I'm thinking it came from China.

I don't know where my boy's ax dissappeared to, I had it for twenty + years. (Grrr.) But I do like my Estwing campers axe as well. It's always behind the seat of my truck and gets used quite a bit.

i know where my boys axe went to. my boy lost it in the woods and i found it a couple years later.handle rotted out but no worse for wear,put a new handle in it and he is not allowed to touch it!

I still have my True Temper Boy Scout axe from the mid sixties. It's beat up and well used,but still gets the job done.

After owning a fiskar axe, Im now modern, light and tough. Like the old ones but love the new ones.
