Single-Six 32 magnum question?
« on: February 19, 2004, 07:05:27 PM »
Do you think Ruger will "ever" bring out the 32 magnum in a more "hunter friendly" version?

I'd like to have one in stainless, with a 5.5" barrel, and adjustable sights. I've been awful tempted to have one custom built, but the cost is staggering compared to a factory revolver. The one place I checked with wanted about $1100 to convert a regular stainless 22/22mag Single-Six to 32 magnum, and that's with me supplying the revolver.

I'm patiently holding out, waiting to see if Ruger will bring it out before I shell out that kind of money.

I have an older Bisley with the 6 1/2 barrel and adjustable sights. It's a wonderful gun. I assume Ruger quit making them because they weren't selling. You now pay a premium for these guns but they're around if you look and for considerably less than $1100. Shortening a barrel and adding sights shouldn't be such a major project. Good luck and good shooting.

I had a single six magnum 5 1/2" barrel with adjustable sights.  Bought it for $185.  Sold it last year.

Wish you had sold it to me. I love the caliber and almost had a Buckeye in the box for $200 but it was sold by the time I called. Probably went in the Gunlist for $500 the next week.
