Price of BP
« on: November 06, 2011, 03:08:27 PM »
Be glad you aren't shooting cannons here in Korea.  Yesterday, my wife and I went to a city about 60 miles away to pick up nearly a pound of black powder.  Talk about sticker shock--it was about $80 a pound (plus my travel) :o .  I will never complain about the cost of bp in the States or the hazmat fee again.

I had to get it for next week, as I will be teaching Korean military officers at the Korea Military Academy how to shoot a matchlock--something that hasn't been done in Korea in over a century.  BP and firearms are strictly controlled here in Korea, so it's going to be a special event.  However, I was told by a friend at the KMA that, after this, they plan to do testing on reproduction traditional bronze cannons; they can foot the bp bill for that one!
