Thunder Mug
« on: November 16, 2011, 02:29:47 PM »
My Hosted Pics is acting up again so I will do this until I can upload there. I had a request for a Thunder Mug, so I started it today. It is 8" over length, 1" bore to 6" 3.5" max OD, 3.25 min OD. Yes, a bit over engineered, but I would rather err on the side of safety. The base plat, being just for stability, and cut to 5.25X5.25 to fit in the large flat rate USPS box, was plug welded in five spots, no bead on the edge. If he had wanted it in bright steel, it would have shipped today too. Just waiting for the paint to dry.

Wow, I bet that's going to shake the ground when it goes off.
I'd love a nice chunky thundermug.
He reached out and stroked shiny barrel. "Manuel, once there was a man who held a political make-work job like so many here in this Directorate, shining brass cannon around a courthouse."

   "Why would courthouse have cannon?"

"Never mind. He did this for years. It fed him and let him save a bit, but he was not getting ahead in the world. So one day he quit his job, drew out his savings, bought a brass cannon--and went into business for himself."
