Was out yesterday riding around the farm on the 4 wheeler when another scruffy coyote pup made the mistake and stopped not 40 yards in front of me.
I grabbed my 45-70 shorty (18") and squeezed off the shot.
You can see in the first pic what a 300gr HP does to the neck of a pup, WOW!
Later a nice mature male came by at about 265yds so I reached for the 204 Ultra with 45gr HPs and hit him through the top of the shoulders, right where I was aiming.
Other than a couple of drops of blood where it entered and exited you can't even tell he was shot.
Very nice pelt with virtually no damage so I saved him and will either have him mounted or at least have the pelt tanned.
That makes 4 for me in the last week and a half.
My hunting buddy got 1 this past Monday accross the road from me and another one behind his house last week.
The owner of the farm just accross the road from me got one at just over 140yds with his 1911 45acp.
He is a good shot with a handgun.
Wish he was that good with a long gun.
Sorry, no pics for the ones they got.
Today I went deer hunting since it is BP season here in VA.
Only saw three deer today but did take a nice 9pt with my Traditions Pursuit XLT 50cal with a 200gr TC Shockwave.
Neck shot at about 70yds.
OH YEA, fresh meat!!!
Not a bad week so far.
