Current Remington manufacture quality of H&R handi Rifles
« on: November 15, 2011, 10:45:57 AM »
I was just wondering how the quality of current production of Handi Rifles is. I'm thinking about buying another 45-70. Thanks for any information.

They are as good as or better than anything made in the past.

I have two Ilion made Handis, plus an Ilion fitted accessory barrel they're all good shooters, no complaints at all.  ;)

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I have to tell it like it is.  After the third trip back to H & R they replaced my 44 Mag.  It took a second barrel on the replacement rifle to get one that shoots decently.  At least I think it does.  Ran out of ammo before I got it like I want, but I think this one wants to shoot OK.   Takes a while to shoot one in sometimes.

My older Handi's in 45-70 are good shooters right out of the box as is the 223 barrel I had matched to a 45-70 receiver.
