Topper 158 Questions
« on: November 16, 2011, 01:29:28 PM »
I have a Topper 20 ga. shotgun that I wish to have a 357 mag. barrel fitted.  Can someone tell me if the Topper receiver is a possible fit?  Why doesn't the Topper receiver have a serial number for the year of manufacture?  Thanks for any info.

The letter that is in front of the US Patent # is the yr of manufacture. It should look something like Z-US Patent 27384. I think that information is in the FAQ's. Some Toppers did come with centerfire bbls .357Max ,22Hornet 22 Rem Jet and 30-30 Win. The factory will not fit bbl to the Toppers though. If it originaly came as a 20ga only it may have the big fat firing pin and that could be problematic. Kurt

For about $60-$70 over the price of a barrel, You can buy a new H&R .357. Just a thought ;)
